Virtual Sample Class: "AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work"

Join Georgetown Professor Nick Lovegrove for a Virtual Sample Class entitled "AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work" on Thursday, February 8 from 12.00 to 1.00 p.m. ET.

Professor Lovegrove is the Academic Director of the EMBA program, and he will draw upon an elective course that he delivers each Fall on this topic. In this session, we will explore the recent advances in Artificial Intelligence - and especially its best-known system, ChatGPT - and the impact they are starting to have on our professional and personal lives. In particular, we'll examine the actual and potential capabilities of AI and advanced analytics in the world of work - for instance, to make more accurate and timely predictions, to prescribe better decisions, and to generate new business ideas and strategies.

Drawing upon your own professional experiences in the use of new technologies, we'll consider how they are starting to drive the transformation of industries and force a reevaluation of the relationship between humans and machines. And we'll examine the risks that have occasioned some observers, and indeed many technology leaders themselves, to equate AI with nuclear weapons and global pandemics in the hierarchy of global risks.

This will be a highly interactive session, which illustrates the spirit of inquiry and shared experience that drives our EMBA program.

The Georgetown EMBA is designed to allow mid to senior level working professionals to earn an advanced business degree without interrupting their careers. Classes are held on campus once per month from Friday morning to early Sunday afternoon and once per month on Saturday in a synchronous online format. Additionally, there are two international and three domestic week-long residencies which immerse students in real-world business projects. You can expect to be challenged by our EMBA curriculum, supported by our community, and transformed by an experience that will prepare you to lead your organization through the complex issues facing business now and into the future.
